I think the ideas in this poem are scary to some people because it puts the onus on ourselves. What a big and possibly overwhelming idea. Only I can save me. And only you can save you. But also so empowering and freeing. It’s actually within our grasp. This thing called happiness. We just have to find where we’ve hidden it in our heart.“Always we hopesomeone else has the answer. Some other place will be better, some other timeit will all turn out. This is it.No one else has the answer. No other place will be better, and it has already turned out.At the center of your being you have the answer;you know who you are and what you want. There is no needto run outsidefor better seeing.Nor to peer from a window.Rather abide at the center of your being;for the more you leave itthe less you learn.Search your heartand seethe way to dois to be.”–Lao Tzu
